Taxi and Ride-hailing Vehicle Course

Contents include Knowledge on taxi and ride-hailing passenger transport service, Location Questions, Route Questions and Road Users' Code Key points analysis and strategies in the test.

Requirements

aged 21 or above and;

who has completed the one-year probationary driving period for a PC or LGV, he/she will be eligible to apply for a learner's or full driving licence to drive a commercial vehicle immediately upon obtaining a full driving licence for the corresponding vehicle type (i.e. PC or LGV); or
to whom such a probationary driving period for a PC or LGV is not applicable, he/she will be eligible to apply for a learner's or full driving licence to drive a commercial vehicle after having held a full driving licence for a PC or LGV for at least one year.

Note: Applicants for a taxi full driving licence will not be issued with the relevant full driving licence unless they, in addition to passing the relevant driving test, have completed the relevant pre-service course within one year preceding the date of application for the relevant full driving licence.

Pre-service Course Total price:$1500, including the foundation module ($750)* and the mode-specific module ($750).
Objective	With a view to enhancing the safety and quality of public transport services, applicants shall attend and complete the relevant pre-service course and obtain the course certificate for the issue of the relevant full driving licence.
Structure	The pre-service course for taxi drivers is a 16-hour course, which cover two parts: Foundation Module (8 hours)： Driving Safety and Road Safety Major Contributing Factors to Traffic Accidents and Handling Emergencies Customer Services and Handling Complaints Mode-specific Module for Taxi (8 hours)： Taxi Operations Occupational Health Brief Introduction to the Body and Structure of Taxi

Pre-service Course for Ride-hailing Vehicle Drivers Total price:$950, including the foundation module ($750)* and the mode-specific module for ride-hailing vehicle ($200).
Objective	With a view to enhancing the safety and quality of public transport services, applicants shall attend and complete the relevant pre-service course and obtain the course certificate for the issue of the relevant full driving licence.
Structure	The pre-service course for ride-hailing vehicle drivers is a 12-hour course, which cover two parts: Foundation Module (8 hours)： Driving Safety and Road Safety Major Contributing Factors to Traffic Accidents and Handling Emergencies Customer Services and Handling Complaints Mode-specific Module for Ride-hailing Vehicle (4 hours)： Basic Requirements for Ride-hailing Services and its Relevant Legislation Operations of Ride-hailing Services Occupational Health
